hello all you (quite lousy) 07S07A-ians out there!
where have you been! why is this blog dying! how can we make this blog more alive! such are the questions that plague me.
okay that sounded dumb, so i shall go back to being my (not so very) normal crunch-ish self. yay.
haha! i am back from vietnam! as is (quite) evident from this post! vietnam was wonderful! and before you ask, no it was not a cip trip - i went there with my family. it was lots of fun and very enjoyable. in fact, i didn't miss singapore at all! okay, who am i kidding. :p haha.
okay come, because i cannot think of anything else that's interesting, i shall tell you random bits about my trip! haha.
i went to ho chi minh city in vietnam, named after our dearly beloved (and departed: 1969 - see my history still can make it!) ho chi minh who was a great nationalist leader who lead the vietminh. he is very handsome. (:
anyway. the shopping there is great - everything i bought cost me less than 10 sing dollars. amazing right. i bought two (very extremely) pretty bags for like 25 bucks. -.- and lots of shoes! i mean, my sister bought lots of shoes! haha. sorry, no chocolates. heh.
and the traffic there is very scary. like seriously. no traffic lights, everyone just going in every direction - did you know: 35 people die every day in vietnam from traffic accidents. :/ our tour guide was very nice, not to mention HILARIOUS. haha. (almost) everyone was friendly - we took lots of photos with the locals and they were all so helpful and lovely *ahemahemunlikesingaporeahemahem*
ummm what else. their beef noodles were damn shiok. and their spring rolls had a lot of mint which i didn't like. and they had nice yummy pancake thingys. yummy yummy yummy i've got love in my tummy and i feel like loving you. (:
we visited the war remanants museum which was very terribly sad. we met a guy who lost his arms and one of his eyes in the war. it was so incredibly heartbreaking. and we also went to the cu chi tunnels, 70km away from saigon, where the locals um, kinda dug tunnels underground and lived during the war. super cool.
hummm. what else was there. there were so many things lah. but one thing i noticed was how the vietnamese people were always so happy. like they weren't as grim-faced as singaporeans, and they always had a smile for us and it was so wonderful being there and i wouldn't mind going back. (: one thing we really could learn from them is how to be happy, even without all the material comforts we have here.
okay, i shall stop sounding cheesy and strange.
i miss ho chi minh.
i shall go off and sing my vietnamese national solidarity songs that my tour guide taught us. ta!
