sauerkraut and humbugs! haha.

reminds me of our bio pt in sec 3 (was it? my memory fails me.) which was infintely amusing. something to do with fermentation. i've forgotten all the bio thingy thingy we were supposed to be learning that had to do with fermentation, was the krebbs cycle part of it or was that something else? aerobic and anerobic respiration. i used to imagine little bacteria thingys floating around in leotards, breathing. haha. it was quite funny.

anyway, come let me tell you a story. about our bio pt which was hilarious. we were supposed to make fermented stuff. simple right? haha. but we had a lot of fun doing it. a lot of groups made kimchi, which really was quite nice. in a kimchi-ish way. and i think some group made sourdough bread. my group was deciding between ginger ale and sauerkraut. but the recipe was too difficult so we stuck to making our ginger ale.

haha. funny bit: we added yeast to water and sugar and left it to ferment. being the n00bs that we were, we obviously didn't realize that we'd eventually get alcohol. ethanol. and methanol if we weren't careful. methanol, by the way, as our very O.o-ed bio teacher (mr. zup chia) told us, can lead to blindness. obviously we didn't find out till the day of our presentation that we were this close to making everyone in class blind, but we didn't really care even when we found out. why? because we were drunk. or quite close to being drunk. haha. it was hilarious. mr. chia told us our final product had like 10% alcohol content. haha.

okay, not very funny. yah, but you should have seen us. a whole bunch of (thirty-six!) girls going crazy, and laughing hysterically and doing the strangest things imaginable. haha. we completely freaked out our lit teacher who came in after bio and thought mr. chia had poisoned us or something. she spent most of the lesson telling us to quieten down and giving us queer stares that obviously got us laughing even more. haha.

those were the days.

and i say YAY to the chocolates derrick promises! dark chocolates pls. white chocolates are evil.
